How INNOvative metal optics are! SPACEOPTIX GmbH is honoured as one of the TOP3 finalists of this years OHB challenge within the INNOspace Masters competition. The INNOspace Masters, initiated by DLR Space Administration in 2015, is an annual innovation competition that promotes the development of new space technologies as well as the transfer of technologies, services and applications from space into other industries and vice versa. The competition is organized by the German Aerospace Center DLR and AZO Anwendungszentrum Oberpfaffenhofen GmbH with support from the ESA Business Incubation Centers Bavaria & Northern Germany, Hesse & Baden-Wurttemberg as well as Airbus, OHB, and DB Netz AG: https://innospace-masters.de/
In the 2019/2020 edition, overall 316 participants submitted 117 ideas from 15 different countries. SPACEOPTIX GmbH was selected for their submission using freeform metal optics for New Space applications, ensuring small and compact optical payloads scalable to volume production for use within small satellite constellations.
